Alternative seating options allow students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. During independent work times they choose a location in the classroom that works for them. Currently, my students work at their desks or sitting or laying on the floor with a clipboard. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. Also providing alternative lighting along with natural lighting lessens stress on the eye caused by fluorescent lighting. In addition, I've requested tools to help students self-regulate their attentiveness. The goal of this project is to help foster success in all students and help them find the leader in all of them!
