Professional Skateboarder, nurse, doctor, teacher, lawyer, soccer player - all of these are dreams my second grade students have for the future. Yet, living in a high poverty (90%+ qualify for free lunches) community, these boys and girls often see dreams ground to dust, like the soil of the nearby farmland. Still, they dream and want to explore the world around them. Almost everyone at Tamarack Elementary is or has been an English Language learner, with Spanish being the language of commerce in our town. As a donor you will be helping to make a lasting impression on the lives of these children and their families.
