Diverse in every sense of the word, my 5th grade class has many students from unique family situations and many come from low income backgrounds. My class specifically is an inclusion classroom with a high number of students with varied disabilities. This year many of these students have speech and language impairments; which means the ability to have differentiation in all areas and especially language support is vital. Additionally my classroom has 16 of 26 English Learners. We focus a lot on language acquisition and vocabulary development for all the students because it is vital.
