Each day, even this early in the year, my students excitedly share stories of how they have practiced skills, read stories and practiced their handwriting the night before. They are eager and enthusiastic learners who question, explore, wonder, create, and share ideas. Throughout the day, the students work in large and small groups as well as independently reviewing and applying new skills in language arts, math, social studies, science and health. The iPad and its apps would be a wonderful motivator for practicing multiple skills. Parent communication would also benefit as we could piggyback on apps used at home and school. Not only would the iPad be a "high interest" item in my classroom, thus motivating students and further engaging them in their own learning, the iPad would also allow for creativity, sharing skills, and listening skills.
