Remember all the great novels you had available to you in your classroom and school library?! 8th grade students in an inner city charter school would benefit greatly from classroom libraries. Students struggling with below level reading abilities due to minimal resources and past breakdowns need more books. I would like to offer them accessibility to books we all know and love so they can participate in conversations in their future endeavors successfully. I believe all my students have unlimited potential and would really appreciate the same advantages other kids have in literature. Not to mention the life lessons and contributions they can make to their world having great books to read and inspire them.
