My students have gone through the rabbit hole that is coding, we have learned about Flight with Drones, and now their curiosity has led them to robotics. In our STEM lab, the students learn real-life skills that will prepare them for the technological careers and challenges they will face. The ability to design, decipher, build and adapt is what the robotic parts will offer my students. A student who uses a technological tool is limited by what the designer decided to consider important, but a student who designs a technological tool is limited only by his dreams. While completing this project, student will learn to code, the design and engineering process including prototype testing, forces of motion, mathematical algorithms, real-life skills such as soldering, computer programming, and last not but not least teamwork. Creating projects that students will remember for life is rewarding, and the reason why I teach, but these robotic parts when placed together in an educational project will create a spark for learning in the career fields of the future.
