For many of these students, cross-country is the only thing that motivates them to stay out of trouble and keep their grades up. The team has more than doubled in size with over 50 athletes this year. Many students lack support at home and the cross-country team is their family and support system. They are learning about mental toughness and the value of hard work. They get up as early as 4:00 AM so we can travel to out of town meets without complaint. They run up to 8-miles in the rain.

About my class
