I'm excited to introduce myself and explain my students' needs. This is my sixth year teaching, and I've learned to balance my home life, a wife and mother of four great boys, and my professional life, a second grade teacher as best I can. Really, I wouldn't change a thing. I do wish for changes for my second graders however. I've been teaching in a low-socioeconomic school district with the majority of my students in need of many things. They balance more then I can imagine and need the very best chance for a brighter future full of infinite possibilities. Education and reading is one major stepping stone to get them there. Giving each student books to read that fit their unique needs is my challenge on a daily basis. I have a library, but it is severely lacking in perfectly leveled books. Please help me as I try to get a 'just right' book in the hands of each of these precious girls and boys daily.
