Students tend to learn and focus better when they can move and be interactive. Worksheets are fine occasionally, but studies have shown that children learn and retain more information when it is something that interests them. The reading sets will provide a print rich resource with current topics of interest. The pencils and glue will help with students when they do their interactive notes. Interactive notes incorporate different activities to accommodate different learning styles, and we use a lot of glue throughout the year as a result. The students will benefit because they will become stronger readers, and won't have to worry about where to get supplies when they are doing activities while learning new skills.
