We are a Title 1 school, where 100% of our students receive free lunch and free breakfast. We are also the most diverse elementary school in the entire district with more than 30 different languages spoken. We have students from Somalia, Nepal, Cuba, Thailand, China, Ukraine, Romania, and many more. More than 60% of our students come from homes where a language other than English is spoken. This means they are expected to learn to speak, read and write English while making the same educational gains as their English-speaking peers. In order to meet these needs, teachers and specialists must constantly modify their instruction to meet and accommodate students' needs.
