Technology is a major aspect of our students future. Technology is everywhere and always evolving. With our students, many don't have access to the newest or even the older versions of technology. Being able to truly teach 21st century skills and prepare our students for their future, technology integration is a must! From writing their own code, to graphics, and the arts; technology integrates all things students love, all while giving them knowledge in our common subject areas that are so important to success. With these iPads our students will be able to take virtual field trips, that can take their experience beyond what any book can do. These iPads will allow students to track and monitor their own growth in all subjects with Mastery Connect, as well as get hands on learning through NearPod where teaching can be made interactive. Beyond the regular school day, many students have a love for gaming. We can use the technology to show them the behind the scenes to the games they love where students can engage in an after school technology club where they can write their own code to create their very own video game. As a teacher for our after school technology club, students are working hard to report on school news and create short news clips to share with our community, sadly this was with the lending of educators personal phones. These iPads will be used to take their video interviews and school event photos, and in turn edit them into a masterpiece to share on our school monitor. In education today engagement is key to success, with technology we can truly reach and engage our students for their future. Having these iPads at our fingertips will open their minds to a whole new world of learning and growing.
