My students are typical middle school students with exceptional ways of learning! They love to learn and enjoy hands on activities and making things that demonstrate their understanding of concepts. The students are hard workers that have to use more energy to understand what most of their peers can easily understand and process. My students receive occupational therapy, speech therapy, and/or counseling services to help them learn in a school setting. The district I work in is in an area that was hit hard when many casinos shut down. The majority of the students in the district receive free or reduced priced lunch due to economical hardship.
