Having access to high quality literature will give my students the opportunity to read complex text at their grade level. These books are culturally diverse and allow for higher level thinking and discussion. (RL.5.10 - By the end of the year, read and comprehend literature, including stories, dramas, and poetry, at the high end of the grades 4-5 text complexity band independently and proficiently.) During virtual learning students did not have the ability to interact with manipulatives that are vital for understanding different math concepts and give differentiated learning to students. (SMP #5 - Use appropriate tools strategically.)
