This is a kindergarten through second grade special day class. Students have various eligibility like learning disabilities, autism, other health impairment or speech and language impairment. They are a group of students who are trying to be like their same age, non-disabled peers. They want to be a part of the bigger grade level group. They go into the general education classes for mainstreaming daily. They learn and make new friends in these classes. Sometimes, due to their disabilities, they need more practice than others or they need more time to work on the assignment. They need different resources like games and hands-on manipulatives to help them practice the newly learned concepts. This is the first year that we have a three grade level span-special day class. In the past, we had two grade levels in one class.
