Our high school math department has been implementing a new curriculum which is designed to engage learners in a deeper and more robust understanding of the material. This curriculum uses many project-based learning activities, and integrates mathematics learning into the larger 21st-century STEM curriculum. Because it is a project-based curriculum, there are many handouts and resources that are printed from online, which need to be sorted, organized, and distributed among the various teachers in our department, who frequently rotate courses and units collaboratively. These organizational materials will allow a more streamlined and efficient delivery of the curriculum and facilitate strong student learning and understanding. Our school has a high population of students with Special Needs, including ADHD, LD, and ASD, and many of these student receive mainstreamed instruction in our math classes. Having a more organized and efficient delivery system for this new curriculum will help all of our students to be successful.
