My students are tenacious in the face of often overwhelming challenges. All of them come from difficult circumstances. Most live in government housing, however a few are in foster-care, and one student has a constant battle of homelessness. The constant stressors of living in inner city poverty, emotional upheaval at home, and with in their community - can greatly impact their learning. I truly want to make their educational experiences inspiring, and equip students with the skills to prepare them for life. I want them to understand that they can graduate high school! They can go to college! I want them to understand that where you are, does not define who you are! "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world!" Nelson Mandela
