An activity my students always love is the listening center. However, through the past 3 years my materials have gone through some wear and tear. I would also have to borrow books and cds from other teachers. My dream is to have our own class set of stories! Listening to fluent reading daily will aide my students in becoming better readers themselves. Students will use these materials every day during small group/centers time within a listening center. Students will have the opportunity to listen to stories that they can not access independently. After listening to the text students will either write or draw events retelling the story. Students will use the individual cd players and headphones to listen to stories independently. The books will be added to our listening center library. The large timer will be displayed to keep students on pace with each center activity.
