A variety of different seating options will allow my special education students, as well as my general education students to find a place that is the best for them to learn and grow. A couch will help my students to find a comfortable, relaxing space to listen to my lessons, work independently or with their peers. The high table will provide a place for students to collaborate with a partner or read. The bean bag and rocker chair will provide independent work spaces around my room that will allow students to move and wiggle as they learn. My students come to know our classroom as a community; yet no two students are alike and I hope for them to each feel as if they are in their perfect learning environment with spaces that best fit them. Students learn best when they feel loved and safe-that is one of my goals as a teacher! By providing them with learning spaces they can move to, spread out in and get comfortable with; I am allowing them to soar! I am very excited about the future of learning in my classroom! Thank you!
