Students will be motivated to engage in a positive learning community by having the opportunity to flexibly learn! Feeling comfortable and feeling like you “fit” in your learning space have positive impacts on physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development! My students are very energetic and flexible seating options would give them responsibility for their learning while also interesting them through choice! Middle schoolers are physically growing at various rates while makes it challenging for each individual to be comfortable in a standard desk and chair. Furthermore, the expectation that students should have to sit still and be quiet for hours on end is unreasonable! Flexibly seating would support their needs!
