"The Littlest School with the Biggest Heart" is the motto of my small community-based school. Our children are sweet, kind and appreciate of even the tiniest things that are given to them. With a high number and percentage of children from low income families, we qualify as a Title I school. This means that we receive some financial assistance. In return for these funds, we must meet accountability requirements for raising student academic performance. While our Parent Organization works hard to fundraise every year, technology often comes with too heavy of a price tag. Bank accounts do not always equal the amount of heart and passion of our school family. We are a transient school and often have students come and go throughout the year. My class size has ranged from 20 to 30 kindergarten students (five and six year olds). Most families can not afford pre-school programs, and therefore my students enter academically behind their peers.
