My students need flexible seating so that each child's needs can be met. In previous years I have had a few different seating options for students in the classroom. Students love being able to choose what they can sit on while working. It provides each child with the opportunity to be successful in their learning. However in a classroom of 23 having only a a few different options doesn't serve many of the students. This year I would love to have more seating options as students have expressed a desire for more flexible seating. Developmentally at this age level children have a difficult time sitting for extended periods of time and by providing them with stools and balance balls they will be able to remain active and also be engaged in their work. Not all children learn the same way and these seating options would really allow me meet to better meet the needs of my students and allow them to experience added health benefits.
