I have been teaching for twelve and a half years and just moved to this school this year. I had lost the joy of teaching the last few years. Well, something about this school has really made me LOVE teaching again. These children respect you and want to learn. They are there because they want to be (for the most part). Although a HIGH poverty school, not much parental support, we, the faculty and staff, are constantly putting out our own money to help and support our "children". We buy their school supplies and make sure they have what they need. The children appreciate what they are receiving and want to make us proud of them. They take pride in their work an show us what they can really be when they put their minds to it. Letting these children know that someone else cares about them is going to really MAKE their school YEAR!
