  • Classroom Essentials!

    Funded Jun 6, 2025

    Dear Julie

I just wanted to express how truly grateful we are for your continued generosity toward our classroom projects. Your kindness and support make a real difference in the lives of my students—many of whom benefit in ways you may never see, but should know are deeply meaningful.

Julie, what's especially remarkable is that you've chosen to support us without knowing us personally. That act of selfless giving blows me away. If you’re ever open to it, I would love to arrange a way for our students to thank you directly. It would be a special moment for them to meet someone who believes in their success from afar.

If you'd ever like to connect, please feel free to email me at edwardsj@nclack.k12.or.us.

    With heartfelt thanks,

    Mr. Edwards

  • Learning Tools

    Funded Apr 23, 2025

Thanks to your generous donation, our classroom is now stocked with essential tools that are making a huge difference in our daily learning: composition books and dry erase markers. While they may seem simple, these materials have had a powerful impact on how my students engage with their work.

When the supplies arrived, my students were genuinely excited. Many of them don't always have access to their own materials, so receiving a fresh composition book of their own felt special. Several students immediately started decorating their covers, proudly writing their names and calling them their "thinking journals." It gave them a real sense of ownership over their learning.

The dry erase markers have transformed our whiteboard work. We now use them daily for quick review games, math practice, brainstorming, and group activities. One memorable moment was during a grammar review game: students were in small groups, racing to write correct sentences on mini whiteboards using their new markers. There was laughter, friendly competition, and most importantly—learning. The markers made it easy for them to take risks, try again, and collaborate without the pressure of making mistakes permanent.

Currently, we're using the composition books for a daily writing challenge where students reflect on a prompt each morning. It's helping build consistency and confidence in their writing. The next step is using those journals to develop a personal narrative project, where students will draft, revise, and eventually share stories from their own lives.

Because of you, my students have the tools they need to grow as thinkers, writers, and collaborators. Thank you for believing in our classroom and investing in their futures. Your support is truly felt every day.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Edwards

  • Art Supplies for Amazing Third Graders!

    Funded Mar 26, 2025

When our students saw the new dry erase markers, composition books, painter's tape, and headphones, they were thrilled! These tools have become essential parts of our daily learning. The dry erase markers are helping students actively participate in math lessons on whiteboards, making problem-solving more engaging and hands-on. The composition books are being used for daily journaling and science observations, helping students build their writing stamina and reflect on what they're learning.

The headphones have been a game-changer during independent reading and learning centers—students can now focus better during online literacy programs, and it's made the classroom environment much more focused and calm. Even the painter's tape has been put to good use for labeling learning stations, organizing our supply area, and creating temporary grids for math games on the floor! Your donation wasn't just helpful—it's been transformative. Thank you for equipping our classroom with the tools we needed to succeed.”

  • Creativity and critical thinking through Art!

    Funded Jan 29, 2025

I cannot thank you enough for your generosity in supporting our project, Creativity and Critical Thinking through Art! Because of your kindness, my students now have access to incredible new resources that are bringing their creativity to life in ways I never imagined. The moment they saw the materials, their faces lit up with excitement. One student exclaimed, "We get to use all of this?!"—a testament to just how much these supplies mean to them.

Already, we've put these materials to great use! One of our most exciting projects involved using mixed media to create personal storytelling collages. Students blended paint, fabric, and magazine cutouts to visually express their dreams, cultures, and identities. The results were stunning, but even more meaningful was watching them analyze each other's work, ask thoughtful questions, and articulate their creative choices—skills that will serve them far beyond the art room.

Looking ahead, we are diving into a unit on perspective and design, where students will sketch and build small-scale architectural models. Thanks to your support, they have the tools to bring their ideas to life with precision and imagination. Your generosity has made a lasting impact, not just on their artwork, but on their confidence and ability to think critically.

From all of us, thank you for believing in the power of art education!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Edwards

  • Bring Art to Our 3rd Graders!

    Funded Dec 4, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous contribution to our classroom art supplies project! The impact of your support has been truly transformative for our students. When the supplies first arrived, the room buzzed with excitement. Watching their eyes light up as they explored the new materials was an unforgettable moment. Some students immediately gravitated toward the vibrant paints and brushes, while others were intrigued by the sketching pencils and textured papers. It was a joyful experience to see their imaginations ignite as they realized the possibilities these tools opened up for them.

One of our first projects with the new supplies was a self-portrait exploration, where students were encouraged to represent themselves using mixed media. This project not only allowed them to experiment with different techniques but also served as a powerful exercise in self-expression and confidence-building. A particularly heartwarming moment was when one student, who often struggles with verbal communication, created a stunning collage that conveyed her feelings more vividly than words ever could. Moments like these highlight the profound impact that quality art supplies can have on learning and personal growth.

Looking ahead, these materials will play a central role in our upcoming unit on environmental art. The students are eager to create pieces that reflect their connection to nature and the importance of sustainability. Beyond that, they are already brainstorming ideas for a community art showcase, where they can share their creations with families and peers. None of this would have been possible without your kindness and support. Thank you for believing in our students and helping them discover the joy and power of artistic expression. Your generosity has truly made a difference in their lives.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Edwards

  • Ceramics and Glass Fusion!

    Funded May 22, 2024

Wow, it was so fantastic receiving this package from all of our generous donors. We had the students open each package. I wish you could have seen the looks on their faces! They are so appreciative and ready to get started.

Working with glass is such a powerful art tool. The students will build their own projects with different colors and shapes. It is fun to see what they pick out. Working with their hands is incredibly beneficial to them. Some of our students struggle with traditional academic subjects and it is fun to see them accel with art.”

  • Reading to Be Our Best Selves!

    Funded Dec 4, 2023

Wow- what a thrill it was receiving this package! I hesitated to tell our students about this project in case it wasn't funded. We had a box opening where a handful of students were given a box to open in front of the class. They did this one by one and described the contents of each box as they opened them. The students in the audience applauded, cheered and the excitement was amazing!

I introduced each book by reading them aloud to the class and talking about the message. Now, students are able to relax during reading group and love partner reading with these powerful books.”

  • Headsets for Learning!

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Thank you for helping bring headsets to our third graders! Our students love technology, like most humans these days, and these headsets help us to use technology to explore educational resources. We use Epic Reading and Dreambox to access literacy and math at each student's ability level. Having the ability for individual students to hear their own audio allows these programs to have a profound impact. Another benefit of these headsets is that they are equipped with microphones. We will soon be launching a writing program and some of our lower students won't be able to write on their own at our grade level. This technology helps us to scaffold our writing so that everyone can access grade level content. All of these benefits are a direct result of your generosity- thank you!”

  • Reading Rug

    Funded Sep 9, 2022

We had originally ordered a reading rug which we desperately needed. Fortunately, another teacher changed their classroom setup and was able to donate theirs directly to our classroom. Luck would have it that the original rug we ordered was no longer available so we were "forced" to choose other supplies.

Our classroom is now decked out with new supplies to support literacy. We have two new shag carpets which the kids love to read on. They even have these fancy backrests to go along with these reading stations. Soft lighting, an electric stapler and numerous other amazing products came along with this package.

The students and I are thrilled and only wish you could see their smiling faces when they opened the packages.”
