The school that I am in is an urban school with 90% on free and reduced lunches. Even with that, the fine arts program has been a big part of the community and has been a great source of pride for the school. In more recent years, it has taken a hit in numbers but in the last couple of years has begun to build momentum and the numbers are growing. We want to once again be the band in the community that people come to see.
