My students put a smile on my face. They face huge challenges everyday, but they are still be able to come to school and give me their best. This motivates me to be the best for them. Real world knowledge is what they need, and that is hard to get if they struggle with reading. Reading is my focus. Because we are more of a rural school, the opportunity to get out in the real world and experience life is a challenge. They need to know how to read a bus schedule. They need to know how to maneuver in the community. They need to know how to buy things at a grocery store. Real world independent functioning takes reading, and it is my objective to increase their reading skills so they can become as independent as possible and build on those skills for the rest of their lives.

About my class
