I currently teach 4th grade math in a Title One school district. I currently have around 40 students. Our students and teachers are blessed that our district can provide chrome books for remote learning. However, like most families during this pandemic, many students have many family members working or siblings also learning from home. This is difficult because there is limited space within many of their homes, to work and focus individually. A pair of headphones would allow my students to hear my voice as though we were in the classroom learning together; a connection so important for student success. Mathematical concepts become difficult in 4th grade for many students, and not being able to hear every word that is spoken from either myself or a classmate can make it even more difficult. A headset that blocks out the distractions around them could allow them to be more successful, and flexibility to really have focus when they need it.
