In my first grade classroom, my students are busy moving around the room throughout the day. The goal I have for the next few years is for every student is to have access to their own laptop. During Math and English Language Arts, my students rotate in small groups to do Independent Work, Academic Choice, Technology or Guided Teaching (with the teacher). In order to be able to use technology effectively in the classroom, headphones are needed to lessen the distraction so that the other students are able to focus on their work without being distracted by the sounds coming from the laptops. Through Guided Discovery, I will teach the students how to properly use and take care of the headphones.
