Students will be using the equipment to measure the proper distance for their running events, timing each other as they run, and practicing their hand offs for the relay races. They will also be able to practice throwing a discus and shot put for the first time, which I know they will be excited for. Having the proper materials for track practice will help my students improve their running skills and get them prepared to compete at our annual track meet. Students will be able to have a more authentic track experience by having this equipment. They will be running the correct distances by using the measuring wheel, time their events with the stopwatches, and hand each other the batons during relay practice. They will throw the discus and shot put and have an idea of what each event will actually be like at the track meet. I look forward to seeing their smiling faces practicing their events with the proper equipment.
