The community I teach in, consists of dominantly Native American students followed by Hispanics. The students in my classroom are placed based on their language support. If they are dominately Spanish speakers, I am most suitable for their learning needs. My students families mostly come from agriculture employment and others are employed by The Yakima Nation facility on our Reservation. However, we do have many students who come from broken homes and whose families are not able to hold any type of employment because of Immigration Status and other types of abuse. Harrah Elementary holds a special place in my heart because like them, I use to be one of them.
