Education has always evolved with new pedagogy but never like it has due to COVID-19. My way of teaching has taken a new role that has revolutionized the way I connect with my students. I am now teaching remotely and my students are distance learning. Technology has surfaced and replaced my traditional classroom with a virtual classroom. Maintaining 25 little faces on a screen motivated and engaged is a challenge we have all had to learn to cope with. Some challenges are more difficult than others to overcome and/or solve. One of those challenges is keeping up with an outdated, non-compatible device. I currently have an Apple Macbook Air which is not compatible with the Microsoft PC programs our school system uses. This not only causes conflicts with my capabilities to connect to WiFi, I have problems with glitches and slow speed. Furthermore, my students have problems connecting with me at times which causes needless added stress for all parties involved. My students deserve better than this. It would be such a dream come true to be able to connect and deliver instruction without all the frustration we endure on a daily basis. A Surface Pro would be the solution to all the problems I am currently facing in the delivery of my instruction in Reading, Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Extended Foreign Language.
