If you peeked in my classroom, you would see students ranging in age from 14 to 20. Each of them has a unique story that brought them to this alternative high school. Within one school day, I will teach students who are on probation, have failed to earn enough high school credits, are homeless, are paying the household bills, work two jobs, care for their siblings, have children of their own, have anxiety, and the list goes on. We are located in a multi-use building shared with senior citizens, school administration, community college students and preschoolers. These are special young adults whose goal is to earn a high school diploma.
