King Philip Middle School is hoping to get local artist Mijumi to visit for an artist in residence workshop for the 2016-17 school year. Our students come from a very diverse population both ethnically and financially. Sadly, many students have never been to an art museum. Also, recently our school system has been hit hard with budget cuts and funding like this will help bring the arts to all of our student population that may not otherwise have an opportunity. This artist in residence visit would service 120 students (or more) of the 300 sixth grade students I see.
