My students appear to be typical kids until they are placed in an uncomfortable situation. Typically my students are autistic as well as have other health impairments. Behavior is typically an issue when learning new skills or placed in an environment that can cause anxiety. They also lash out as a first response when asked to complete a non-preferred activity. The kids love to have fun especially when they are able to show off their knowledge of a topic. The students in my room would benefit greatly from new board games. The games that we currently have are all but worn out, or the students are bored with them. These new supplies would be a tremendous help as well as a motivator for them to increase their comfort with social skills as well as the general population.
