Please help our Love Bugs to get a carpet! My kids need a comfortable place to sit during classroom instruction. Every day we have a designated work station time where the children sit on the floor to complete Math and Reading games/activities. Additionally, children sit on the floor during circle time, morning meetings, and whole group instruction. Students are usually so eager to learn that they sit on the bare floor without complaining. This carpet would not only create a more comfortable space for students to learn, but would reinforce Phonics/Math concepts being learned. As educators we are unaware of what our students are going home to, we often don't know whether they have somewhere safe to sleep or if they will be fed that evening. We feel that it is our duty to ensure they come to school and are enveloped in a warm and comforting environment in which they can feel safe and valued. With the addition of a carpet in the classroom we can continue to foster and inspire our students love of learning, while providing them a safe haven to escape the difficulties of their lives.
