My twelve students are primary aged (K-2nd grade) children with significant autism and developmental delays; many are non-verbal. They are lovely children, as hungry to learn and to experience life and school as their typically developing peers, but unable to communicate or access the same activities that other children can access. The new world of technology can now open doors to them that were never before available at school. An iPad, loaded with district-approved activities and apps, can introduce them to new experiences and allow them to interact with their peers more easily at school.
