My students are an energetic, and determined bilingual bunch. They are constantly making connections, and working together to help each other understand concepts. Our school is a dual immersion school, where our focus is to become bilingual and bi-literate learners. It is located in a low-income community where most of our students are on free/reduced lunch. Often we see students in the care of grandparents or other family members, while their parent are working multiple jobs. However, I see the dedication and perseverance that our students, and families have as they better develop their native language, or are working on adding a second language.
