Our school is from a high poverty area. My students are passionate about their work and are learning at an incredible pace. Even the simplest of projects are inspiring them, and we are having a great time learning from each other. We are currently using free software to edit photos that we're taking with cell phones or my private camera, as the expense of a good camera and backdrops for the school are just too much. My students can't afford cameras with high resolution and we don't have the ability to take photos at evening or indoor games. I am seeing a level of excitement that I only imagined from my students. And now that I have a group of students that are incredibly excited about learning, I want to provide them every opportunity to explore all parts of the digital media field. Not only for our yearbook and newspaper, but also as possible careers for my students.
