During the 2015-2016 school year, I began to redesign my classroom environment. My goal was to ditch the traditional classroom look with desks and chairs and make it more student-centered with flexible seating. My students this year enjoy and thrive in the flexible seating environment. I have witnessed that my students love having the choice of where they want to complete their work. By having the flexible seating the students would sit, stand, or lay down where they were comfortable. This lead to a more engaged learning environment. I often saw students collaborating quietly and not disturbing their peers. With the addition of more flexible seating options, the students will have options in our flexible, student-centered environment.
