These materials I have selected for my classroom will make a difference in my students' learning and improve their school lives by allowing us to have a well prepared start. At the moment we are prepared academically but without supplies we are being held back. My students can't afford to go out and buy all of the basics, but with the little we have put together they have showed me they are ready to rock! We plan to use the pens and pencils to create and peer edit our amazing writing pieces. We will need the sharpeners to sharpen our pencils as we sharpen our minds. The post-it notes will be great for when we annotate as we read our mentor texts as well as for the occasional inspirational message or reminder. We have absolutely nothing in our room or on our walls so we will have to start from scratch, and with your help we can build it together.
