I am requesting the selected materials because I feel they are a necessity to my classroom environment. Over the summer I spent many hours creating a reading center in my classroom. By including bean bags in my reading center, my students will enjoy reading and spending more time there. This will encourage students to enjoy reading more often and promote a positive attitude towards reading. Other supplies such as the pencil sharpener and classroom games are basic necessities any classroom should have. Due to it being only my third year teaching I have not yet accumulated these items. A pencil sharpener is crucial to have in the classroom in order to ensure students have pencils to write with everyday. Classroom games serve as an incentive. Students will be rewarded with having "Fun Fridays" if all work is completed and they've demonstrated positive behavior. Lastly, I feel the testing partitions are also necessary so that I can ensure I am collecting assessment data accurately, and provide additional assistance to students that are in need of it.
