Student choice in seating can encourage self-efficacy. My students feel successful accomplishing great work due to the seating choice they made to help them focus. In return students believe they have the aptitude to do great learning and work. When they sit with peers, they see them successfully navigating problems and solutions, which encourages self-efficacy. Sitting where they'd like also helps with verbal pursuation, peers tend to boost confidence in one another. My second graders are already choosing how they'd like to complete their work. Some like to stand others like to go to the rug and lay on their bellies, some jump behind their seats, while others walk around the classroom reading their book. It's been exciting to see how choice in seating allows students to do their best work. The supplies I have chosen will assist students to positively approach goals, tasks, and challenges (and allow them to have fun while doing so)!
