I am a Title 1 Reading Strategies teacher for 6th grade. My job is to take struggling and reluctant readers who hate to read, and show them there is power in books. The point of reading is not just to pass a test. The classes are small group sizes of approximately 6-12 students per class. We have amazing books to choose from, as well as 1:1 iPads full of e books. My goal is to make the space more comfortable. I want to accommodate my students who typically have a hard time focusing on a book in general much less while sitting at a desk! Who wants to curl up with a good book...at a desk?!
