My students are an incredible, inquisitive and bright group of seventh graders who love to read. They go to school at a magnet school for the gifted students in our inner city school district which qualifies for 100% Free and Reduced Lunch status. As in any classroom, my students have a myriad of interests when it comes to reading, as well as a variety of reading levels. One thing that seems to tie them all together is a love of reading. My 105 students have already read well over 1000 books during our first semester together! I would love to include more discussions about texts that they read in groups. Sometimes the journey is better when you have someone along.
