I teach students with Autism that are high function in a Precision Teacher Class ( PCT) program range in grade levels from 6th to 8th grade. The PTC is a highly structured /individualized program located on the middle campus of Hubbard Middle School . The emphasis is on the instruction for moderate to severe autism characteristics that interfere with learning and are the primary factors that keep the student from being successful in the general education classroom. The goal is to increase the student's time in the general education classroom. Instruction is based on improving communication, social skills, coping skills, and the ability to adapt to new situations. Most students are able to perform at or close to grade level academically but behavior intervention is needed for this child to thrive in the general education setting. My curriculum includes behavior modification techniques and teaching social skills.
