These flexible seating options will allow my students to enjoy movement as they learn. We should not expect children to sit in a hard chair at a boring desk all day and continue to work and learn to their full potential.
"The biggest mistake we make in life is to treat everyone equally when it comes to learning." ~Dr. Mel Levine
Children are unique and learn in different ways. It is part of my job to ensure that my students are provided with what they need to be successful. Wobble chairs and balance pods invite them to bounce and wiggle while they immerse themselves in a good book. Bean bag seats and lap desks provide a comfy and cozy place for them to become an author and write a creative story. Stability balls and floor cushions allow them to choose a spot around the room as they engage in creative problem solving. Combining movement with learning is proven to help with blood flow and energy, while helping them stay focused on their task at hand. It is my hope that providing multiple flexible seating options for my students will help them be engaged, motivated, and successful.
