Imagine sitting in a hard plastic chair for 6 hours a day. OUCH! Students are often required to sit in their hard school chair for the duration of their classroom time. Then they may get in trouble for wiggling around or trying to get up. New research claims that providing students with seating options that are comfortable and promote movement boosts student engagement. I am requesting six active learning stools and three mesh desk chairs. These seats will allow students to be more comfortable. Students will be allowed to choose the seat that allows them to focus the best. In my experience, I have noticed students engage in sustained work with enthusiasm and agency when they are given the opportunity to get out of their hard plastic blue chairs. Help me by supporting my cause to provide my students with a flexible seating classroom.
