Learning an instrument takes a few things to work. It takes a willing person who will put in the work. My students are very willing. It also takes a quality instrument. A quality instrument makes it more worthwhile because quality instruments give quality sounds. If the sound is good, the experience in playing it is better. Currently, our school's drumset is a collection of pieces from 3 different drumsets that have been donated or used for many years. The older pieces are falling apart and would cost more to replace than to repair. A brand new, quality drumset would help more than just the students that are playing it. It will support the rest of the bands more effectively giving all students a better experience in the class.
