Active groups of first graders will be starting school this year in a new classroom that has few books and supplies. I am looking for generous donors, like you, to help me provide books for this near-empty classroom so that these active first graders can have a great start to their academic career! To me, the best part of first grade is how much literacy learning occurs over the span of the year. These children select their own books from a classroom library to read, and they need a variety of texts! Having a leveled library is so important. This is where students learn how to choose books that are a good fit for them. They select books that they can read, about a topic they will enjoy learning more about. This skill will lead to a lifelong love of reading and learning. Please consider donating to this cause!
