This is my first year of teaching and I have been given the pleasure of instructing a literacy class during my 5th period. The students in this class are mainly English Language Learners and have a difficult time getting into reading during and after school. The students have shared with me that reading in other classes brings them anxiety and even the thought of going to the library brings them fear.
