My students are Newcomers--they have recently immigrated to the United States-- and are working hard to learn how to read, write, and speak in English to have the best opportunities possible in their new home. They show an incredible amount of perseverance, courage, and empathy each and every day as they attempt to navigate the challenges of becoming young adults in a new country and culture. Representing over 10 home languages and 20 countries, they are a model of how to learn with and from each other. Passionate and dedicated educators like myself are doing as much as we can to support our students in their learning. However, since we are in a Title I school, my classroom is often in need of additional financial support for the resources I know will help my students achieve their goals of changing the world! Thank you.
